Emesis Is My Nemesis

The only word that can describe the last week or so is "puke". It's been a puke-y holiday for the kids. Blood and chaos withstanding, nothing quite says "Merry Christmas" like a nice eruption of vomit. Elliott puked in the car on the way to PA (of course this is nothing unusual for the girl). Janna spent the week of Christmas projectile vomiting all over the furniture (and whoever was holding her) at my Mom's house. And Gabriel booted all over the car twice (and dining room) over the holidays, too.

Now that we're home, the only change is from Janna - she must have depleted her supply of gross-ness. I think her problem was that there was too much excitement. Gabriel and Elliott now have what I can only assume is some sort of stomach bug. Both of them are barf-y and warm. I hate being sick myself, so I feel terrible when my little kiddos don't feel good. That being said, they better not give it to me!! Or Janna!

The Girl Who Cried Potty

I love the fact that Elliott is almost completely potty-trained, but I could live without her never-ending demand to be pottied. At least once every 10 minutes, she asks to go pee-pee or poopy - and when either Jon or I take her, nothing happens. Well, that's not entirely true...she giggles instead of tinkles. She thinks she's so funny. I hate to not take her though, because I know that one of these days she's really going to need to go and that's the time that I will refuse to take her. And to make things worse, she has really started picking up the pace of her demands this week. This is a problem because we're visiting my Mom in PA, and her bathroom is on the other side of the house - a haul for a little girl whimpering and holding herself. So far there haven't been any accidents (yes, I am knocking on wood right now)...

He Keeps Me In Stitches...

'tis the season for
the colors of red and green
good thing blood is red

My son really does keep me in stitches. He is quite possibly the funniest person I know. Yesterday was his preschool Christmas Pageant. Hilarious is the only word to describe it. An unruly bunch of three-year-olds carrying giant plastic people...you can imagine the chaos that ensued. And my son led the way! He got to "be" Joseph - which means he carried one of those big plastic dudes that churches have for an outdoor Nativity. He proudly carried his Joseph through the church, and sat down beside him. When the pastor started telling the tale of the first Christmas, Gabriel started to fidget. When Pastor K. got to the part where the angel told Mary she was having a baby, my son explodes with this loud noise - somewhere between a baby cry and a laugh. That was it...no other kid could be quiet or still. And it was hilarious. Kids running up to the edge of the alter yelling for Moms, Dads, sisters; screaming about having to pee and the need for shoes to be tied. And then there was the singing. Again - hilarious. Every time a song was about to begin, my son would yell, "Behold (his new favorite word)!!" So, the morning was spent laughing at the sight and sounds of preschoolers doing their best to re-create the first Christmas.

Gabriel also keeps himself in stitches - literally. After the festivities at preschool, we came home for lunch and naps. Jon left after lunch, and I got the kids ready for a rest. Gabriel didn't want to sleep in his bed, he wanted his sleeping bag. I said no, he flipped out. So, I made him a deal - if he would sleep in his bed, he could call Gramma to see if she had a special sleeping bag he could sleep in over the holidays. He agreed, but insisted that he call Gramma before the nap began. All I wanted was a moment of peace, so *sigh*, I agreed. I told him to go downstairs while I tucked Elliott in. I was just about done covering Elliott, and CRASH! I hear Gabriel fall down the steps. Then he starts shrieking about blood. BLOOD?? I jumped Elliott's gate and ran down the steps to see my son standing in a puddle of blood - it was pouring out of his head, but I couldn't determine which part of his head. I grabbed some washcloths and tried to stop the bleeding - which was coming from his forehead. I called Jon (who hadn't even reached his office yet) , and left a message for him to call me ASAP. He called back a few minutes later and came right back home - I don't even think he took his jacket off. A friend came over to watch the girls, and Jon and I took Gabriel to the ER. After the nurse got his head all cleaned up, we could see how big Gabe's boo-boo really was. It was impressive! Over 3cm long, about a quarter of an inch wide, and pretty deep. 2.5 hours and 8 stitches later we left the hospital. Good times!! And the good times were captured on film! I had my camera with me, so I took pictures.

After we got home, Gabriel let us know that he had a good time at "that place with the lights", and that he wanted to call everyone and tell them about his "ties". I am so proud of my Boy. He was such a trooper. He never cried or freaked out while the doc was stitching his head closed. He just laid there all calm. He wanted to see what was happening, and was very interested with all of it. I was a nervous wreck. I have never seen that much blood in my life, and I hope never to again.

O Christmas Tree

the tree is all done
or so i keep saying, but
i found more to hang

Haiku Friday

Our tree is up and decorated. Getting it there was a hassle! We got the tree Wednesday evening from a local Farm and Country place (it was CHEAP for a tree...$19.99). We got it all dried out and ready to decorate Thursday morning (when we got it, it was covered with snow). Jon went to work, and I set out to at least get the thing lit before playgroup at 10. I plugged in the lights, all of them worked. Yippee! I unplugged them, climbed a chair, and started getting them all situated on the tree. Then I plugged the tree in...nothing. No lights. So I swore (sometimes it helps) and jiggled the strands. The clear ones turned right on! The colored ones (I stripe my tree) still wouldn't work. So I swore some more, and the red and green ones came on. The yellow and blue refused to work. It had already been a crappy week, and this just set me off. I just started crying. My pal, Katie, called and she brightened me up a bit. So, I gave up for a while so I could concentrate on playgroup. By the end of it, I was completely calmed down (thanks, ladies) and ready to make those lights work. I promised Gabriel that by the time he got up from his nap, the tree would be glowing. So I went through the entire tree checking each blue and yellow light. It took a while, but I fixed them! I spent the afternoon decorating, and the end result is pictured above.

I love Christmas trees - the smell, the lights and decorations, I just love them. But I am so sick of the hassle and mess. If I would be able to live with myself, I would buy a faux tree. I just can't bring myself to do it. So, even though I was ready to shove the tree out the back door yesterday, I'm glad I managed to calm myself down enough to get the thing all prettied up. I love the way it looks, and the kids are thrilled with it!

And So It Has Begun...

It's snowing...I hate snow.

TGIF!

i love my three kids

Haiku Friday

Prepare yourself for a bunch of ranting...

This week has not been the greatest. Monday was awful. Mondays are usually awful, but after a long weekend at Gramma's house, it was an awful-er (I know that's not a word) Monday than I'm used to. Nothing went well. It was just a sucky day. Tuesday was a little better - preschool days always are. I got a few Christmas decorations out, and I was all happy. Happy until Elliott peed a lake in the middle of the living room. After she did it, she ran and hid in the hallway...creating a lovely pee-trail across the room. Wednesday was even better. We got out of the house, Mrs. Rodgers came over for our weekly date, and the kids actually took great naps. Thursday wasn't too shabby either. I took the girls to the ped. for check-ups and then managed to go grocery shopping (I saved $40 - go me!!). The afternoon was ok, and then 5:00 rolled around. Instantaneous meltdowns all around.

(Incoherent ranting ahead...)

This morning was fine until about 9:16am. On our way to the ped's office for Gabriel's flu shot, Elliott puked all over herself and the back seat. Good. Did I have extra clothing? No. So I scrubbed her off as best I could with baby wipes (I keep some really generic ones in the car - they were essentially useless). After the flu shot I had to go to Target. (Here's where the ranting takes off...) Elliott needed a winter coat, and I needed to look for something for the kids to wear for holiday pictures. We don't dress up...I don't "do" dresses, and my kids are usually dressed in classically simple clothing. My plan was to put them all in red turtlenecks, khakis, and red socks. Simple, cute. Soooooooo...do they have plain (and by plain I mean no ruffled edges) red turtlenecks for girls? No. So I bought Elliott a boy's one. Do they make them for babies? No. So I found a red long sleeved tee instead. Great! Oh wait...it has stupid s**t written all over the front. Why, why, why do all baby shirts have to have something emblazoned on the front? After bitching loudly, I decided to let it go. I could cover the shirt with a sweater, and I had already found 2 adorable cream-colored cardigans in the clearance section for the girls...$4.98 each. Woohoo! I found a cable knit sweater in almost the same color that would be perfect for Gabriel. I realized I could get Elliott a matching one - it's just a plain sweater, completely unisex, and she would look so stinking cute in it. Do they have them for babies? YES! However...in order to get the sweater, I also have to buy a shirt, tie, and pants. Apparently little girls aren't supposed to wear plain, cable knit sweaters. Instead, I am supposed to dress them up in frilly, poofy, FUGLY holiday dresses that cost more than I would pay for a dress for myself. I have a bunch of really cute dresses, but they rarely wear them so why put them on for a holiday pic? I want the pictures to look "realistic" - I want the kids to look they way they usually look. Hence the simple outfits. So I settled on the sweaters for the kids (cardigans for the girls, cable knit for Gabe), red shirts, jeans, and red socks. After the shopping, we came home. I fed Janna and the older kids were once again animals. I fed them, and tried to get them to clean up. No use. So, the toys are now MINE. Nap-time was chaos. All three kids were in bed by 12:30. The screaming and yelling finally stopped around 2. Did they fall asleep? One did. The older two decided to jump on their beds and rip all the covers off. I guess I can deal with that, at least it's kind of quiet. It's 4:09 and I keep putting off going up there and getting them...

My Big Girl...

...will be 2 tomorrow. And it doesn't seem possible. When did this precious little bundle become a Big little girl?

Elliott is so...well, me. She's whiny, bitchy, extremely cute, intelligent, talkative - need I go on? Every day I am amazed by her - her intelligence, cuteness, nastiness...whatever. I'm just in awe. So, Happy Birthday Hosette. Mommy loves you!

I Love Firemen!

Yesterday was our MOMS Club field trip to a local firehouse, and I have decided that I might want to be a fire woman when I grow up! Ok, probably not, but it was so cool! The kids had a blast, and I was just in awe of the coolness of the trucks and all the stuff we saw.

We started our tour with the call room. Lots of buttons everywhere! Gabriel wasn't too thrilled with the computers, but he LOVED the great big boots that were all over the place. They were seriously almost as big as him! Then we got to see where the firemen ate and relaxed (Gabriel wanted to know if they had chips and popcorn), and where they slept. The bunk room was pretty cool, Elliott and her friend Emily couldn't stay off of the beds - they pulled right out of the wall. We also got to see a cool demonstration of this nifty infrared light thing...it was awesome. The kids all lined up and put their hands on the wall. Then the lights were turned off and when the special lamp was pointed at the wall, you could see the hand prints. It picked up the little body heat that was left on the wall. Cool! We finished the inside tour with a look at the exercise room. There was so much equipment in such a small space. And of course Gabriel wanted to go in and work out.

We went out in the garage to look at the trucks next. The men leading the tour were all so nice, and they didn't care that Gabriel was touching everything and asking lots of questions. They even let the kids sit in the cab of the truck!

After the kids checked out the driver's seat, they checked out the tires. Both Elliott and Gabriel thought it was neat that the tires were as big as they were. And they liked that they could put their bottoms in the tire itself.

The best part of the trip was the ladder truck...or was it Erin's locking her keys in her car? Either way - both were awesome! The dude leading our tour brought the ladder truck, and extended the ladder to it's full height of 104 feet (thanks, Erin for asking how high it went). It was just so cool. Then he lowered the basket to where we were all standing, and the kids got to get in a look at the controls. Elliott really didn't care, but Gabriel was in heaven. He loves things that move and levers/controls/buttons are almost as much fun as trains in his book. So, Gabriel being Gabriel asked if he could climb the ladder or work the controls...the controls won out.

So while all of the cool truck stuff was happening, Erin was realizing that her keys were safely housed in her coat pocket...which was safely housed in her car. I know I'm a terrible friend for laughing, but it was humorous! The firemen were already there, and then the cops came. I documented the ordeal for her on film. It was awesome! It might have been the highlight of my day!

The trip ended with the kids all receiving a Junior Firefighter badge and coloring book. Then some of us went to McDonald's for nuckas and fry-fries. It was the best field trip I have ever been on!! And the two older kids loved it, too! Janna's opinion of the day?

If You Like Pina Coladas...

...then you would LOVE my new deodorant. Seriously. I needed some new destinkifier, and Suave's Tropical Paradise scented stuff was on sale. Now I know why. Every time I move my arms I smell pina colodas...and I don't like pina colodas. It reminds me of that Teen Spirit deodorant I wore when I was like 12.

I know blogging about something so trivial is very dorky, but the smell is so overpowering that I just had to share!

Say Cheese!!!

We got a new digital camera!! Not only is the camera itself fairly awesome (it's a shiny new Kodak EasyShare), it was also FREE!! Woohoo!!

I hear you asking, "How did you get a free (cool) digital camera?" And because you asked so nicely, I'll tell you. All we did was sign up for another 2 years of our phone/DSL service. In addition to the sweet camera, we got $10 off our monthly bill and a $50 gift card to Kodak's online Photo Gifts thing. Score!

Why???

Why is it so hard for people to use their brains? Seriously. In my perfect world there would be a limit to a few things (ok, a LOT of things, but here are only a few):

1. The number of times you are allowed to get away with not holding the door open for people - yes, that is for you Fat Man at the Mall this morning who watched me struggle with a stroller full of baby and a toddler on a leash.
2. The number of times you are allowed to touch someone else's child - without permission. Yeah...so help me if one more stupid person puts their hands on Janna (or Elliott or Gabriel) without my permission... I tell people to please not touch, but apparently they are either deaf or too stupid to comprehend that "Please, I'd rather you didn't touch her" means DON'T F-ING TOUCH HER!
3. The number of times you have to say, "Excuse me," before you finally just run the damned person over.
4. The number of times you are allowed to hit the "Reply All" button.
5. The number of times you have to tell your toddler that boogers are yucky - not tasty.

Today hasn't been the best of days in the ol' K-W household. But venting a little of my frustration has made me feel all kinds of better!

I Won...kind of...

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day! A few of my Mommy friends and I attended the NYS MOMS Club Luncheon. I left my house at 9:50 and I got home after 5. Yes - that is an entire day with no kids! I was in heaven!

The Luncheon itself was very informative. I met lots of new people, and I obtained a plethora (I LOVE that word) of information about how to make our chapter of MOMS better than it already is. The downside of the day was that there was WAY too much estrogen in such an enclosed space. Not to degrade my fellow females, but holy crap! It sounded like a chicken farm in there! There were women of all shapes and sizes chattering non-stop. I know that I am totally guilty of running at the mouth, but some of these women put even me to shame!

One of the cool things about the Luncheon was that each chapter of MC was to bring a basket to raffle off filled with items matching the theme. This year's theme was "Coffee or Tea...MOMS Club For Me", so there were baskets filled with coffees, teas, mugs, stirrers, all kinds of wonderful things...including an IPod and a cool Jogging Stroller. I bought a bunch of raffle tickets (the money goes to a great fund supporting Moms in need), and spread my tickets through all of the baskets. Low and behold, I won one!! I got this huge basket filled with preschool books! I was thrilled! It weighed a ton, and from what I could see, the books were awesome. So I spent the rest of the afternoon revelling in my wonderfulness (I never win anything).

When I got home, I rummaged through that basket, and to my shock and dismay...

the majority of the books were USED!!! And when I say USED I mean that they were either chewed on, covered with greasy hand prints or crusty food, written in...just used.

For the amount of money I spent on raffle tickets (and I didn't spend much compared to what some of the other Moms spent), I was completely caught off guard by the condition of the stuff in my basket. I thought that because the tag on the basket said that the value of it was at least $200, all of the books would have been new. I was (and still am) pretty p'd off. Don't get me wrong...I love used stuff. I yard sale and ebay with the best of them. But when you are raffling off things, shouldn't they be new?

Trick-or-Treat!!

Happy Halloween! I am so glad this day is over. The kids couldn't behave themselves during the day, and I kept threatening to take the trick-or-treating away. But being the pushover that I sometimes am, I let them go anyway. And what fun they had!!!

Since Gabriel and Elliott love their costumes, getting them dressed was only mildly annoying (Gabe couldn't find his socks, Elliott wouldn't stop running away...). The picture taking was also only mildly annoying. They just couldn't wait to get outside...
As soon as we left our steps, both kids were yelling, "Trick-or-treat! Happy Halloween!" at anyone and everyone. At first they went to each door they saw, then they figured out that you only go to doors where a light is turned on. Both kids climbed the steps (and it was no easy feat for Elliott between her poofy dress and slippery shoes) and fought over who got to knock on the door. They were polite to everyone, both saying their "Please"-s and "Thank You"-s. It was amazing to hear (since I rarely hear them, it's nice to know that they are actually polite kids). Elliott showed her true devilish side tonight. When a very nice woman let her pick the candy that she wanted out of a bowl. She chose a few pieces, and when the woman asked her if she wanted popcorn too (she had a bunch of ready-to-pop bags), Elliott took ALL OF THEM! It was hilarious...and kind of embarrassing. I told her to put them back, but the woman was so nice. She said to keep them, it was less for her to have to eat. Elliott beamed her 1,000 watt smile at her, and all was well. Whenever someone told her she could have more than one piece of candy, she dug her grubby little paws into the basket and took fistfuls. Gabriel was much less hoggish - and when told he could have more than one piece of candy, he said, "I'll just have three." - and he only took three.

Elliott could have stayed out there all night. She was thrilled. She'd never been trick-or-treating before, and was in heaven. She loved telling everyone that she was a witch and that Gabe was a lion. I'm pretty sure she touched every single pumpkin in our neighborhood, too. Gabriel got tired after about 35 minutes, so we came home. We missed a bunch of houses, but the kids still got a ton of loot. I am thinking about having the Great Pumpkin come see us tonight to take away some of the candy...and maybe leave the kids a little present.
So my first time trick-or-treating as a Mom was loads of fun! But I'm glad I have 365 days before I have to do it again!

Punkas!!

The above is Elliott's pronunciation of pumpkins. The girl is obsessed with pumpkins! I have taken her to a number of pumpkin patches, and she is the happiest I have ever seen her when she is surrounded by large, orange pumpkins. As soon as she sees the sea of orange, she starts screaming "Wook, Mommy! Ownge punkas! Have a!" (Look Mommy! Orange pumpkins! Have some!) She has to touch them all (and I mean ALL), she sits on them, hugs them, kisses them, and then moves them all around the patch or field. The only thing she doesn't like about pumpkins is the dirt. She gets very upset when they are muddy, and even more upset when they are wet with dew. Eventually she gets over it, and will love on them regardless, but she is a bit perturbed. And it doesn't matter if the pumpkins are real. She loves the faux punkas in craft stores, and she loves books about them. She loves watching "Cinderella" so she can see the pumpkin turn into the coach. She's completely obsessed!

Our latest trip was this morning, and she was in heaven. She and I went with our MOMS Club. Gabriel was in school and Janna stayed home with Jon (Daddy had his "special surgery" yesterday). So she had me all to herself - which doesn't often happen. The place where we went was in a large field, and there were rows upon rows, bins upon bins, and piles upon piles of pumpkins. She was beside herself with glee. It was so cute to watch. And to hear! She would run from pile to pile, sit on a few, and scream to either myself, Katie, or Jennifer (my 2 best Mommy friends) to look at her and take her picture. I took over 50 pictures of her and various pumpkins this morning alone. That isn't in addition to the various other pictures I have taken of her in other pumpkin patches.

So today was a great day! I love the Fall - and I am so glad that my kids seem to love it, too. Gabriel understands what seasons are, and he loves that the leaves are changing color and falling off the trees. Elliott, as I said, loves the fruits of the season. She loves picking apples, too. And Janna is just such a happy girl.

Monday, Monday...

Holy crap...it's already the second week of October. I swear the time is seriously getting away from me!! Last week was pretty good. Gabriel is still going through his nasty/annoying/spitting phase. He basically gets to go to bed around 7 because he can't be nice at the dinner table. It's great! He tells me he's not eating the junk that I make, then he shoves the plate to try to knock over every one's drink, and then he spits all over. Dinner-time is so miserable these days. And Elliott tries to eat (she's an awesome eater), but when she sees Gabriel throw his food, she joins right in. Good times!

So because Gabriel was so terrible at dinner Friday night, he didn't' get to go running with Daddy on Saturday. And he missed out on a good time! Jon and Elliott ran in the Barktober 5 mile race at Lollipop Farms (it's a local animal shelter). Jon finished First in his age group, and Sixth overall. Elliott was in heaven! Not only was there a playground, but there were dogs everywhere! She got to "pet" a huge puppy and kitty (people in costumes), and apparently she couldn't get enough of them. She even entertained a few locals with her animal noises. Silly girl!

Enough about last week...this week is going to be fun! Today we are doing nothing - Gabriel keeps saying he doesn't feel good. Tomorrow is Gabriel's snack day at preschool (I made trail mix), and the girls and I are going to our MOMS Board Meeting. Wednesday is outdoor day. The leaves here are gorgeous, and Gabriel understands that this is Fall (I LOVE preschool), so we're going to gather leaves and make some decorations. Thursday is field trip day. In the morning we go to the Pumpkin Patch with preschool, and the afternoon is filled with Apple Farm fun. Friday we leave at the crack of ass for PA. Saturday is Pumpkin Festival time at Rorhbach's, and Sunday is party day with Jon's family. Busy, busy, busy!!

This week...

Has been so much better than last week! The kids are being so much better behaved. Last week was awful. Gabriel is going through a nasty phase...and it needs to come to an end. All he likes to do right now is cause trouble. He bites, spits, hits, back talks like it's going out of style...you name it, he does it. And Elliott then follows suit. It's great. By the time Jon gets home I am ready to ship both kids off to Siberia. Because they are both being such ornery little cusses, I can't enjoy them. And I hate that feeling. I hate feeling guilty for yelling at them so much, and I hate disliking them. Don't' get me wrong...I love my kids. Adore them. But there are times when I just don't like them. Especially right after I've been spit on.

So that was last week. Nothing short of hell.

But this week is a whole different story! The kids have behaved (well, mostly) so well. Gabriel loves his preschool, and he's thriving. He comes home chattering up a storm about the girls in his class and the crafts they have done. Elliott loves it when he's gone (she gets to play with EVERYTHING), and she's super excited when he gets back. Janna is so sweet and happy that we are able to do just about anything with her. But she's had a great week, too. All 3 kids have been napping and sleeping well, too. Not that we've ever had a problem with Gabriel or Elliott's night-time sleeping, but they very often object to their naps. Janna is sleeping for 10+ hours each night, and she's napping longer in the afternoon. So I get a break while the kids are napping, and I find that I am much more relaxed. And happy Mommy means happy kids!

We still have a few outing this week (MNO for me and Apple Picking for the kids), but I know those will be great. I like going out with my Mommy friends with no kids (what SAHM wouldn't??), and the apple picking is lots of fun. The orchard is full of dwarf trees, so everyone can pick the fruit. It will be a perfect ending to a pretty darned good week (I'm trying not to swear as much...you should be proud that I used the word "darned" in there).

Ahoy ye bilge-rats!

Avast, me hearties! It's International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Pretty silly, if you ask me. But it's a chance to ask such questions like:

What's a pirate's favorite letter? R!!! (Thanks for telling Gabriel this joke, Dad!)

How much does it cost a pirate to have his ears pierced? A buccaneer!!

And my personal favorite...

A kid with a speech impediment dresses up as a pirate and goes trick or treating. He knocks on the door of a house and a man answers. "Oh, I see you're dressed up as a pirate," he says. "But where are your buccaneers?" The kid gets angry and replies, "On the sides of my buckin' head!"

My Favorite and Best Boy!

Gabriel started preschool today! He had such a good time. He started the day at 6:45 (when Janna decided to wake everyone up), and as soon as his feet hit the floor he started talking about school. He had the breakfast of his choice (peanut butter toast, bacon, and banana), then when for a "serious run" with Daddy and Elliott. When he got back it was time for a quick clothing change and a few pictures.

It's amazing to me that Gabriel has already entered the educational atmosphere. It just doesn't seem possible that he's pushing 4. He's such a big boy, too. He got weighed and measured this morning at the church. He's 41 and 3/4 inches tall and he weighs 37.5 pounds. He's pretty huge if you ask me!

So my baby boy is officially a preschooler. It's a slightly bittersweet moment for me. I am a little saddened at the idea that he is growing up so fast. But I am also so glad that he will be out of my hair for 5 hours a week!

Monday, September 17, 2007

Woohoo!!!

I posted my first stuff, and voila!! It worked! So now I am a blogging fool...or something like that.

Anywho...tomorrow is a big day in our house. Gabriel starts preschool! I am so excited. I need to have him out of my house for a bit. He's terribly busy and far too smart for his own good. He's also sooooooo excited for school to start. Tonight while he was getting ready for bed he told me that he needed his hair sprayed with Elliott's spray (detangler) so he would look good for tomorrow. So, I humored him and made him look all pretty. He checked himself out in the mirror and declared himself handsome, then told me he was only going to take a short nap because he was too excited. So I asked what he was excited for. "For school, Mommy!!" Then he thanked me profusely for spraying his hair and his blankie (it inadvertently got wet when I made Gabe beautiful). He's so sweet when he wants to be!

So while Gabriel and I go to school (I have to go with him for his first day), Elliott and Janna will have a nice morning with Daddy. Everyone should have a great day!

Testing, testing...

Ok, so dork that I am, I decided that I needed a blog. My friend, Erin has one (and it's super-cool), so I have shamelessly mimicked her very impressive site and am trying blogging for myself. We'll see how it goes...
